Our commitment

Ability Bazaar targets WCAG 2.2 level AA as a minimum, and applies level AAA techniques wherever practical - including enhanced contrast, generous target sizes and plain language. The site is designed, written and tested with screen readers, keyboard-only use and low vision in mind, by an organization whose testers live these requirements daily.

Built into every page

• Display settings in the header: three text sizes, light and dark themes, a high-contrast mode, readable spacing and reduced motion - remembered between visits on your device.
• Read aloud: every page can be spoken using your device's built-in voice, reflecting our voice-first design principle.
• Full keyboard support: a skip link, logical focus order, visible focus indicators and no keyboard traps. Menus and panels close with Escape.
• Screen-reader structure: landmarks, one h1 per page, descriptive link text, status messages announced politely, and tables with proper headers.
• Readable by default: the Atkinson Hyperlegible typeface (designed by the Braille Institute for low-vision readers), strong colour contrast, and no information conveyed by colour alone.
• Respect for your settings: the site honours your system's reduced-motion and colour-scheme preferences automatically, and works at 400% zoom without horizontal scrolling.
• Accessible forms: every field is labelled, errors are listed in a summary you can jump from, and nothing is timed.

Known limitations

• The "Read aloud" feature depends on the voices installed on your device or browser; quality varies by platform.
• Catalogue entries and pricing may evolve as the marketplace grows.
